RANKING all THIRTY (30) musicians who OPPOSE Donald Trump’s use of their music

I believe every article about Donald Trump should be treated with the respect it deserves. Hence the first clickbaity trivial nonsense post seen on the Jukebox.

We recently saw the estate of the late, great Sinead O’Connor become the latest to condemn the use of their music at a Trump political rally. It was stated that it was “no exaggeration to say that Sinead would have been disgusted, hurt and insulted” by his use of her music. And she’s not the first.

Today we will go through the extensive list of names that share this sentiment. And in the true spirit of 2024, we will rank them ! Because everybody seems to love tier lists so much.

After the 30th name publicly spoke out against him, you’d think Donald would start asking wouldn’t you. Or just use his mates, Kid Rock’s, tunes. Although I can’t see that getting the crowd too amped up.

The Three Stooges.

Starting off with No. 30 and 29 we have two artists who I’m not too familiar with, Isaac Hayes and Nico Vega. Respect to them though.

Next up in No.28 is Aerosmith. You may be thinking surely that’s abit low for Steven Tyler & co. But honestly apart from ‘Walk this way’ who cares for them these days. And that was mostly Run DMC anyway.

Moving on swiftly we have Panic! At The Disco in at 27, Neil Young at 26 and Nickelback at 25. Nickelback above Neil Young may cause some disagreements. But like I said this is a clickbaity nonsense list in the name of Donald Trump, I’m TRYING to anger you.

Everest of ‘The House of Pain’ is in at No. 24. Jump Around is an absolute banger which I’ll always associate with the great last year this country saw, 2012, for some reason. What a time.

Phil Collins is No.23. He’s been accused of being a right-wing bore in the past by many, including Noel Gallagher. He may be a bore but maybe he’s not as right wing as we thought.

Now let’s speed through some more and get to the important numbers shall we.

No. 22 – The White Stripes

No. 21 – Johnny Marr (The Smiths are just The Police but less adventurous, less talented and more boring. That might be a Jukebox article on it’s own one day.)

No. 20 – Village People

No. 19 – Eddy Grant

No. 18 – Tom Petty

No. 17 – Guns ‘n’ Roses (Bit low? get over it)

No. 16 – Creedance Clearwater Revival (Honestly, should be higher, my bad.)

No. 15 – Pharrell Williams (Makes me ‘happy’)

No. 14 – Linkin Park

No. 13 – Queen (Sorry. I think they’re slightly overrated.)

No .12 – Prince (Also could be higher. Remember this list is really not that serious. Just abit of a joke init.)

No. 11 – Luciano Pavarotti

I just love his joyful face. Just wanna squeeze those cheeks don’t you.

And now the excitement picks up. Are you excited? Boy, I sure am. The top 10 musicians who stuck one in the face of Donald Trump !!

In at No.10 we have Leonard Cohen. I can’t say I’m a Leondard Cohen super fan, but just for ‘Hallelujah’ being one of the greatest tunes of all time he deserves a spot in the top 10. I still think Jeff Buckley’s version is better though. And Happy Mondays version is EVEN better, but that is a completely different song to be fair.

No. 9 is the king Bruce Springsteen. Big Brucey. Well done you’ve made my top 10. I’m sure you’re buzzing.

In at No. 8 may surprise you but we have Adele. I’ve always proclaimed that her first album is a natural progression of the sound Amy Winehouse bought into the world. She may have deterred from that sound since, but just for ‘Chasing Pavements’ alone she deserves this spot.

No. 7 is The Rolling Stones. I’ve never actually been that into them, but I feel they need to be in the top 10 don’t they. Harsh on Nickelback not being above them to be honest.

Rihanna comes in at No. 6. In my opinion, one of the greatest solo female singers of all time. Genuinely. Imagine starting your career off with ‘Umbrella’, fair play.

And now the TOP 5 !!! This one surprised me when I was looking at my list to be honest. But I’m sticking with my guns. R.E.M kick off the top 5. Little known fact, ‘Shiny Happy People’ was originally going to be the theme for the sitcom ‘Friends’. Imagine the royalties they missed out on there.

Just missing out on the top 3 is Elton John who comes in at No. 4. Unfortunately Elton I just couldn’t put you above my top 3, soz.

So who is the top 3 ?? Well in No.3 with the Bronze medal we have… The Beatles. They get enough gold medals for my liking. Let someone else feel the success for once.

But who has pipped Lennon, McCartney & co. to the top spot? I will tell you now it is between Sinead O’Connor and the legend that is Ozzy Osbourne.

The nerves are tingling, can you feel that tension?

I can exclusively reveal that in at No.2 in the list of musicians that oppose Donald Trump’s use of their music is …

OZZY OSBOURNE.

Which means our winner and the greatest musician to stick two fingers up to Donald is SINEAD O’CONNOR. Maybe recency bias is playing a part here, but the fact that Sinead so openly stood against everything Trump believes in makes it quite remarkable that Donald thought he could get away with it. And for that reason, the late, great Sinead O’Connor tops the most prestigious list of the year.

I can only apologise for my last few posts being about AI and Donald Trump. I swear this won’t become the new norm. Or maybe it will. Maybe I’ll become a right-wing grifter. My next post will be all about how a deep state conspiracy is denying us from making the world great again ! I just hope I don’t get beaten to it by a lettuce.
