Whether you’re gracing Worthy Farm with your presence, or watching from afar on iPlayer, it’s always difficult to navigate your way through Glastonbury weekend. So I’m here to help. View me as your guardian angel for all things great (and not so great) at Glasto.
We did the same last year on The Jukebox as some of you loyal fans may remember. Check out this piece for more general festival advice on how to enjoy yourself (maybe a bit too much). They really were some great articles, go check them all out. Now.
Anyway, tune into the Jukebox every morning and you won’t have to worry at all about how to spend your day. You’ll have the greatest weekend of your life all thanks to me. You are welcome.
Check out our lovely colour-coded itinerary just below if you’re too lazy to spend 4 minutes reading my thoughts.
That’s the admin done, so let’s get started…
FRIDAY – IRISH DOMINANCE WITH A HINT OF SUGA

Hopefully you’ve not gone too hard on Thursday night and you’re up early and raring to go.
We kick things off with a precursor for the weekend ahead. 12:45pm on the Woodsies stage we have Lambrini Girls. A fast-paced, in-your-face 45 minute set from this trio from Brighton will have you ready to kick some babies. Their tune “Body of Mine” is one of the best releases of 2024 so far and has been included in “JacksJukebox Sounds of the Summer ’24”. Check that out on our Insta.
This afternoon is gonna be fun, cos next up we have the single most requested band to be included on the Jukebox. Contemporary Irish Folk group The Mary Wallopers take to the Park Stage at 3:15pm. (There you go Mergal Furphy, you’ve finally got your wish.) This is just the start of an Irish takeover on Worthy Farm. And it is also the first of many clashes which, as I said, makes this itinerary slightly impossible.
Because at 3:45pm on the Other Stage we have maybe the standout act from 2022’s festival. Aussie electro pop duo, Confidence Man, are a must see. Their bopping beats, comical lyrics, and choreographed dance moves create a must see show. Even if their music was average they’d still be worth seeing. But their music is far from average. With their new album, ‘3AM (LA LA LA)’, coming out in October I’m intrigued to see the next evolution they make, both in the studio and on stage.
Once you’ve finished grooving to Confidence Man, you have 10 minutes to get over to the West Holts Stage. You do not wanna be late, I don’t know why these aren’t in the classic Sunday legends spot. Because at 4:55pm we have no other than the Sugababes !! I’m only (half) joking of course. But come on, having a quick dance to ‘Push the Button’, yes please.
Once your weekend has peaked with the Sugababes, you wanna head to the Pyramid stage for the first time this weekend. Granted, you won’t be spending too much time there, the headliners are pretty meh aren’t they. But you can spend a solid 3 hours there on Friday night. Kicking off with the legendary PJ Harvey at 6:00pm and following that up with LCD Soundsystem at 7:45pm. You can ‘dance yrself clean’ and act like ‘daft punk is playing at your house’… That was poor I won’t do that again, apologies.
Once LCD Soundsystem finish at 9:00pm, that’s when you’ve got some choices to make. If you’re a pop head then you probably wanna stay on the Pyramid Stage. Dua Lipa is headlining, it doesn’t sound like the most exciting headliner to me. However, I have seen her live back in 2016 infront of about 200 people, and she was pretty good. Could be worth a watch. I’ll probably just check her out on iPlayer the next day though.
Personally, I’d be heading over to the Park Stage. At 9:15pm, King Krule takes the stage. Definitely one of the most exciting British artists about at the minute, someone I’d love to see live that I’ve not had the chance to yet. Check out his hour-long set then wait around for 45 minutes because the Irish takeover continues… Fontaines D.C. headline the Park Stage.
King Krule may be one of the most exciting British acts about at the minute, but Fontaines D.C. are more exciting than all British acts, showing everyone how the Irish do it.
The first release from their upcoming album, ‘Starburster’ is one of the songs of the year so far. The expectations for this new album are sky-high as they look to continue to evolve their sound. The band has spent lots of time in America in recent years and that’s coming across in their sound. Whilst keeping elements of the rawness of their first EP, ‘Dogrel’, they are beginning to play with more complex layering and drum beats. This has real potential to be the set of the weekend.
But they are part of maybe the toughest clash of the festival, especially if you’re one of those Brewdog drinking fake punks who’ll probably vote for Reform in a couple weeks. Bit of a generalisation, but you already know what band I’m on about.
IDLES headline the Other Stage. Just to clear up I’m a big fan of IDLES, but there’s definitely something in that Brewdog comment, right? Anyway, before Brewdog claim this is libel let’s talk about the music. IDLES are right up there with Fontaines as the best guitar bands around at the moment. Definitely the two best all-male bands around in a time when indie/guitar music is being kept alive by all-girl bands. They’ll always put on a show and I think their last album, ‘TANGK’, was a return to form after a very slight drop off with ‘CRAWLER’.

The rest of the night should be spent venturing around the likes of Arcadia and Levels. Find some DJs and get off your tits.
Charli XCX, who seems to be the talk of the town lately, is DJing at Levels at half past midnight which might be worth seeing.
But like I said, just venture around and get off your tits. But not too off your tits. You wanna be up for 11:30am on Saturday morning as the Irish takeover continues with a hip hop trio that’ll blow your minds…
Tune in tomorrow to see just who I’m on about…
